Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
1. Who We Are
ScoutVybe ("we", "us", "our") is a lead-generation platform operated by an independent individual operator based in the United Kingdom. We provide tools that help businesses find people who are publicly asking for what they offer, across Reddit, X, GitHub, and Hacker News, and draft replies they can send themselves. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you use our website at scoutvybe.com and related services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account or use our services, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo. To run your campaigns you also provide your product URL, brand description, target audience, and campaign settings.
2.2 Payment Information
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not collect, store, or have access to your full card number, CVV, or banking details. Stripe processes your payment information in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. We receive only a confirmation of the transaction, the amount, subscription status, and a transaction identifier, which we keep as billing records.
2.3 Automatically Collected Information
When you use ScoutVybe, we automatically collect certain technical data, including your IP address, browser and device information, and pages visited, to maintain, secure, and improve the service, and to catch errors when something breaks.
2.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform, understand how it is used, and improve your experience.
When you first visit ScoutVybe, you will see a cookie consent banner that lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. If you accept, our analytics run fully. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set: we only count visits in an anonymous, cookieless way that cannot identify you or follow you across days. Signing in, paying, and security protections work identically either way and are never part of this choice. You can change your preferences anytime via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Run your campaigns, find matching public posts, and draft suggested replies
- Process subscription payments and manage your plan and credits
- Provide support and send essential service communications
- Maintain platform security and prevent fraud and abuse
- Understand how the product is used and improve it
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: to provide the service to you, account creation, running campaigns, processing payments.
- Legitimate interests: maintaining security, preventing fraud, improving the service, and reading publicly posted content to connect people who describe a problem with businesses that solve it.
- Legal obligation: complying with applicable UK laws, including keeping financial records.
- Consent: where you have given it, such as accepting analytics cookies through our banner.
5. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party providers to operate ScoutVybe, each processing data only as needed for its role and under its own privacy policy. These include our sign-in provider (Clerk), our payment processor (Stripe), our analytics and error-tracking provider (PostHog, hosted on EU servers, with IP collection disabled and sensitive fields masked), and our marketing-attribution provider (DataFast). We also rely on hosting, security, database, and queue infrastructure, on AI providers to match public posts and draft replies, and on data providers to access public content from Reddit, X, GitHub, and Hacker News. We do not sell your data or share it for third-party marketing.
6. Data About People Who Post Publicly
To find leads for our customers, ScoutVybe reads publicly posted content from Reddit, X, GitHub, and Hacker News: the public post text, the author's public username, and a link to the post. We process this on the basis of legitimate interests: connecting people who publicly describe a problem with businesses that solve it. We never contact anyone ourselves; our customers review and send any reply themselves, from their own accounts.
We keep this data only briefly: post content is deleted within 30 days, with a minimal record kept only to avoid re-processing the same post. Where a post is matched to a customer as a lead, that copy stays in their workspace until deleted.
To have your posts removed, email support@scoutvybe.com. We will remove them and take reasonable steps to prevent re-collection.
7. When We Share Your Data
We share your data only with the service providers listed above, solely to operate the platform, and where required by law, regulation, or legal process. We never sell your data.
8. Data Retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, your subscription is cancelled immediately and your data is permanently deleted except your email address, retained to enforce our one-free-trial-per-customer limit; payment and transaction records, retained for accounting and legal purposes (which may be up to 7 years); and the record of your cookie-consent choice, kept in anonymised form no longer linked to you. Your name and profile photo are removed at deletion.
9. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
As a UK-based platform, we comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation. You have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict processing: ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Data portability: request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Object: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: turn analytics off anytime via "Cookie settings" in the footer, or by email.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@scoutvybe.com. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption across the platform, secure authentication via Clerk, and PCI-DSS compliant payment processing via Stripe. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's Privacy
ScoutVybe is a business tool intended for individuals aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it promptly.
12. International Data Transfers
Some providers (such as Clerk, Stripe, DataFast, and others) process data in the United States and other countries outside the UK and EU/EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, in compliance with UK GDPR. PostHog processes data on EU servers, which provides equivalent protection.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date, and material changes will be announced by email or in-app. Your continued use of ScoutVybe after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
14. Contact Us
